In engineering, a shim is a thin piece of material, used to fill small gaps or spaces between objects. Shims are typically used in order to support, adjust for better fit, or provide a level surface. Shims may also be used as spacers to fill gaps between parts subject to wear.

We stock type 301 stainless shim steel strip from 0.005mm through to 1.20mm thickness and can supply any quantity from a single 1 metre sheet. Type 301 is an austenitic stainless steel offering resistence to rusting in adverse conditions.
