Type 420 Stainless Steel is a martensitic grade providing both outstanding corrosion resistance and exceptional wear resistance. We stock it in a range of thicknesses from 0.10mm to 3.00mm thick in strip and coil. Our stock is hardened and tempered and suitable for flat springs and blades. We can offer a cutting or profiling service.
The hardness on our stock material is normally in the range of 48/52 HRC.
Alternatively we stock 301 grade strip which is an austenitic grade. 301 is suitable for forming springs without the need for subsequent hardening.
